Overview
This course gives an introduction to Systems Biology,
an interdisciplinary research area combining the fields of (cell) biology
and systems theory. The course is open to both biologists and engineers.
In particular, the following topics are covered:
- Modeling: continuous-, discrete-time, automata, partial differential;
- Model Analysis: metabolic flux and control analysis, time
scales, identification, robustness;
- Systems Theory: regulation, adaptation, synchronization, reduced
models, controller design.
Each topic will include computer exercises. This year, we participate
in the project Notebook University Stuttgart. This enables
interested students to borrow a certain number of notebooks free of
charge.
As a consequence, we can have the computer exercises in the lecture room and
right at the time they best fit to the presentation of the theory.
No Prerequisites
Anmeldung
Please contact us if you plan to
participate in this course, preferably before April 30th.
This is necessary both for students interested in renting a notebook
as well as for checking whether a personal notebook is suited for
usage in the course and installing software.
