Einladung zum Vortrag im Kolloquium Technische Kybernetik

Remarks on the lecture
“Dynamic optimization for nonlinear target control synthesis” of A. Kurzhanski,
presented at NOLCOS 2004

em. Prof. Dr. Hans Wilhelm Knobloch
Mathematisches Institut
Universität Würzburg

    Zeit: Dienstag · 26. 10. 2004 · 16:00 Uhr
    Ort: Raum V 9.31 · Pfaffenwaldring 9 · Campus Stuttgart-Vaihingen

Abstract

„Control synthesis under uncertainties“ was the main issue in Kurzhanski’s lecture, it will be discussed in the forthcoming lecture, too. Following Kurzhanski the notion of “value function” is introduced and its relation to solutions of Hamilton-Jacobi differential equations is stressed. Classical solutions, however, are viewed upon under a different angle. This makes it possible to bring the essence of Kurzhanski’s lecture closer to concrete problems in control engineering.

Biographical Information

PhD thesis in Algebraic Number Theory (1950). Professor of Mathematics since 1964 in Aarhus (Denmark), Berlin, Würzburg, retired in 1995. Co-organizer of various meetings on control theory in Oberwolfach. Main scientific interests: Mathematical foundations of control theory (geometric approach to nonlinear systems, Hamilton-Jacobi differential equation, nonlinear observers).
