Research topics

Research at the IST is characterised by a theoretic and methodological approach to problems related to systems theory and automatic control. The main focus therein lies on the development of cutting edge methods concerning the characterization, analysis and control of complex systems of different kinds. Since the foundation of the institute in 1999, the specific fields of Model Predictive Control, Networked Dynamical Systems, Nonlinear Systems and Systems Biology were established as main pillars of research, each conducted by numerous young and excellent scientists.
