General Info and History

The Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control (Institut für Systemtheorie und Regelungstechnik) was founded under the name "Institute for Systems Theory in Engineering" in late 1999 at the Department of Process Engineering and Engineering Cybernetics of the University of Stuttgart in an effort to further strengthen the systems orientation of the department and to incorporate the area of systems and control theory firmly in the research and teaching activities of the department. The Institute is responsible for research and teaching activities in the areas of systems theory and control engineering for students in the study fields Engineering Cybernetics, Process Engineering and partly for Mechanical Engineering.
