Einladung zum Vortrag im Kolloquium Technische Kybernetik

Process Systems Engineering at The University of Sydney

Professor Jose A. Romagnoli

    Zeit: Montag · 3. 6. 2002 · 16:00 Uhr
    Ort: Hörsaal V 9. 12 · Pfaffenwaldring 9 · Campus Stuttgart-Vaihingen

Abstract

This presentation covers the different activities under investigation at the Laboratory for Process Systems Engineering at the University of Sydney. Focus will be on recent developments in areas such as: i) intelligent/smart process monitoring, ii) modeling/optimization/control of complex systems (polymerization reactors, crystallization processes), iii) integrated systems design/operation. Also in this presentation, current developments in the Laboratory's experimental facilities will be discussed as well as their integration into our main areas of research. Finally, some of the Laboratory's industrial activities will be described.

Biografische Information

Professor Romagnoli currently holds the Chair in Process Systems Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Sydney University. He is also the Director of the Laboratory for Process Systems Engineering. He received his Bsc (Chem Eng) at the National University of the South (Argentina) 1974, and his PhD (Chem Eng) at University of Minnesota in 1980. He is author of more than 200 international publications and author of the book " Data processing and reconciliation for chemical process operations" published by Academic Press International. He is a member of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and consultant for several international companies. His research interests cover all aspects of Process Systems Engineering specially: data processing and reconciliation, modeling of complex systems, advanced model based control and intelligent process monitoring and supervision.
