Abstract
Twenty years ago, a theory of adaptive control has been developed
which is not based on any identification mechanisms but the controller
invokes structural properties of the system only;
such as stable zero dynamics, knowledge of the relative degree,
and the sign of the high-frequency gain.
In the talk, this theory will be introduced for some nonlinear systems
and biotechnological applications.
Latest findings obey pre-specified output behaviour and a
high-gain function which is no longer monotone.
This will be explained for some exothermic reactors and it
will be shown how to modify the controller in the presence
of input constraints.
