Ulrich Münz received his Dipl.-Ing. in electrical engineering and information technology (equivalent MSc)
from the University of Stuttgart, Germany,
and his diploma in telecommunications (Ingeniero de Telecomunicación, equivalent MSc) from the
Polytechnic University of Madrid
(Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Spain, both in 2005. In September 2005, he joined
the Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, as a
research and teaching assistant. In June 2010, he received his Dr.-Ing. (equivalent PhD) with
summa cum laude for his dissertation on Delay
robustness in cooperative control. From April 2010 to September 2011, he worked as a systems engineer with
Robert Bosch GmbH. Since October 2011, he is a research scientist at the
at the corporate technology department of Siemens AG.
His research interests include the analysis and
design of cooperating multi-agent systems with communication delays, the analysis and design of
time-delay systems in general, fault diagnosis, as well as control of power electronics circuits and power networks.
During his studies, he received several prices and scholarships, among others
the VDE-Award for outstanding studies in electrical engineering and the
EECI European PhD Award on Embedded and Networked Control
for the year 2010. He was a scholar of
the German National Academic Foundation from 2002 to 2005 and of the
Dr. Jürgen und Irmgard Ulderup Foundation from 2003 to 2004.
From 2005 to 2009, he was a scholar of the
MathWorks Foundation.
