For the fourth year in a row, the University of Stuttgart awarded prizes for the best publications from each of the ten faculties. This year, 2021, the best publications of the year 2019 were selected. The winning publication of the Faculty 7 - Engineering Design, Production Engineering and Automotive Engineering is the journal paper: "One-Shot Verification of Dissipativity Properties From Input–Output Data” by the authors Anne Koch, Julian Berberich, Johannes Köhler und Frank Allgöwer from the Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control (IST). The IFAC Young Author Prize (YAP) for the best paper at the 16th IFAC Symposium on Control in Transportation Systems (CTS'21) has been awarded to Raffaele Soloperto.
Sebastian Schlor was awarded the Dr. Artur-Fischer-Foundation Prize 2021 for his master thesis with the title "Event-triggered Learning and Model Predictive Control" in the category "Prize of the Fischer group of companies". The thesis has been conducted at the Intelligent Control Systems Group (ICS) of the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.
Johannes Köhler became one of three finalists of the IFAC Young Author Award at the 7th IFAC Conference on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control 2021. The paper title is " Stability and Performance in MPC Using a Finite-Tail Cost" by Johannes Köhler and Prof. Frank Allgöwer. The Young Author Award is for the best paper by an author who, upon the date of submission of the paper, is a PhD student.
Outstanding Student Paper awarded to Julian Berberich for his paper "Robust Constraint Satisfaction in Data-Driven MPCPaper" in collaboration with Johannes Köhler, Matthias A. Müller and Frank Allgöwer at the CDC Conference IEEE CSS Awards, December 2020.
In November 2020, the Kyb Alumni prize has been awarded to Dennis Gramlich and Sebastian Schlor for their Master Theses.
Michael Hertneck was awarded the IVS-Award 2019 for his master thesis "Nonlinear Periodic Event-Triggered Control Based on Non-Monotonic Lyapunov Functions".
|The Best Student Paper Award at the 8th IFAC Workshop on Distributed Estimation and Control in Networked Systems (NecSys 2019) has been awarded to Steffen Linsenmayer for the paper entitled "Event-based Containability for Linear Systems with Arbitrary Small Bit Rates" co-authored by Matthias A. Müller, Hideaki Ishii, and Frank Allgöwer.|

The YAP prize is for the best paper at the joint 9th IFAC Symposium on Robust Control Design (ROCOND'18) and 2nd IFAC Workshop on Linear Parameter Varying Systems (LPVS'18) of an author younger than 30 years by 3 September 2018".
