Vector scholarship for studies abroad for students studying Engineering Cybernetics

The lack of money should not be the reason against a stay abroad.

Every year, the Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control awards a limited number of Vector Scholarships for studies abroad to students studying Engineering Cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart who cannot afford a stay abroad otherwise. The scholarship is sponsored by Vector Informatik GmbH and can be used for all kinds of stays abroad (Erasmus+, theses, internships, etc.).

All important information can be found below.

The application deadline is the end of November. This year, as an exception, we are also offering the scholarship in July. Apply by 31.08.2024 by e-mail to vector-stipendium@ist.uni-stuttgart.de.

The scholarship is meant for students studying Engineering Cybernetics (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Stuttgart who cannot afford a stay abroad financially. Even though applicants are expected to have a good standing in their studies of Engineering Cybernetics in Stuttgart, excellent grades are not a prerequisite for funding. The need for financial support is paramount.

  • Monthly rate for up to 6 months (up to 1400€/month depending on the host country)
  • Travel expense allowance (400€ for Europe and 800€ for overseas)
  • Tuition fees (up to the exact amount, at most 1500€)
  • Administrative allowance for insurance, visa etc. (200€)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Current certificate of enrollment
  • Proof of BAföG for the last 2 semesters (minimum rate of 300€ if living with parents or 500€ if not living with parents) or a similar certificate about finances

Simultaneous funding through other scholarships is not possible. Two exceptions are the Erasmus+ scholarship and the Deutschlandstipendium, which can be topped up with a Vector scholarship for studies abroad.
