The researchers Robin Strässer and Felix Brändle, both involved in the autonomous e-scooter project, attended the 17th IFAC Symposium on Control in Transportation Systems (CTS 2024) in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. They presented their paper, "Collision Avoidance Safety Filter for an Autonomous E-Scooter using Ultrasonic Sensors", which marks a significant advancement in autonomous transportation by providing a safety layer for collision avoidance in micromobility.
This work was a successful collaboration at the Institute for Systems Theory and Automatic Control, involving institute members Robin Strässer, Marc Seidel, Felix Brändle, David Meister, former member Raffaele Soloperto, student David Hambach Ferrer, and Prof. Frank Allgöwer. We thank the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg (MWK) for funding in the context of the “MobiLab” project.
